ERIE, PA – For a seventh consecutive year, the Gannon University Department of Athletics and Make-A-Wish® teamed up to reveal a wish to a child on Saturday during Gannon's Acrobatics & Tumbling meet at the Highmark Events Center.
Joshua Eastman, an 11-year-old from Kane, PA, his siblings, Jaxon, David, and Emily, and parents Rebecca & Jason will attend Legoland and other Orlando theme parks in April, courtesy of Make-A-Wish and Gannon Athletics. The trip will take place during Joshua's 12
th birthday.
His wish was revealed after he won a football game against Victor E. Knight, Donald Duck, & Mr. Lego Man on the Highmark Events Center court. He was surrounded by Gannon student-athletes when the wish was revealed.
Every year, Make-A-Wish® grants life-changing wishes to children living with critical illness.
Gannon is a member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, which was second out of all Division II conferences in donation totals this past year. A year ago, Gannon finished second in DII as a school in Make-A-Wish donations, totaling over $12,000.
In fact, Gannon has finished third or better in each of the last four years, including leading Division II in 2019-20. During that time period, Gannon has raised nearly $45,000 for Make-A-Wish.
Gannon Athletics is now working to raise money for another wish reveal. If you'd like to donate to Make-A-Wish
