Logan Sallot (Erie, PA/McDowell High School) was named the PSAC Wrestling Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday, following a statement performance in Gannon's 40–3 home-opening victory over Glenville State on Sunday evening.
Entering the dual ranked 16th in the Open Mat dual rankings, the Golden Knights earned an upset over No. 7 Glenville State, highlighted by Sallot's marquee individual win. Ranked sixth in The Open Mat individual rankings and fifth in the latest NWCA individual rankings, Sallot notched a hard-fought 6–4 decision over Colton Drousias, who is currently ranked eighth by The Open Mat and earned All-America honors a season ago after placing eighth at the NCAA Championships.
A native of Erie, Pa., Sallot was instrumental in the lopsided team result, helping Tom Boyd's squad improve to 4–1 on the season. With the win, Sallot moved to 4–0 in dual action and improved to 14–2 overall. The victory marked his fourth consecutive match against a ranked opponent, as he improved to 2–2 in those contests.
