The Gannon women's lacrosse team will celebrate its four seniors and officially open the home portion of its schedule on Saturday, March 15, against Daemen at McConnell Family Stadium. Senior Day festivities will take place before the 1:00 PM opening draw.
Head coach
Jennifer Pawlowski's squad is coming off a 1-1 spring break trip in North Carolina. The Golden Knights secured their first win of the season with a 12-8 victory over Catawba, powered by Avery Kirisits' four-goal performance and a seven-point effort from
Ella Todd (Maple Ridge, British Columbia/Maple Ridge Secondary). Gannon wrapped up the trip with a tough 17-8 loss to Belmont Abbey, despite strong performances from
Caroline Stevens (Syracuse, N.Y./Liverpool) and Kirisits, who each netted three goals.
Offensively,
Caroline Stevens (Syracuse, N.Y./Liverpool) leads the team with 15 goals and three assists (18 points) while also securing 15 draw controls.
Ella Todd (Maple Ridge, British Columbia/Maple Ridge Secondary) follows closely with seven goals and a team-high 10 assists (17 points). Avery Kirisits has contributed 10 goals and one assist (11 points), while
Charlie Hunter (Boston, N.Y./Hamburg) has added eight goals and one assist (nine points) along with a team-best 18 draw controls.
In goal, junior
Riley Finnegan (Oviedo, Fla./Oviedo) has been the main presence in net, playing in all four games and logging 189 minutes while making 30 saves.
On the other side, Daemen is led by first-year head coach Emily Bitka and currently holds a 2-3 record.The Wildcats' offense is paced by Ella Bouley, who has nine goals and six assists (15 points) while also winning 12 draw controls. Avery Castner follows with eight goals and two assists (10 points), including a game-winning goal.
