PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC - The Golden Knights were battling for the top of both the individual and overall leaderboard on Thursday in the final round of the Pawleys Island Beach Bash in Pawleys Island, SC. When the final round was complete, Gannon had two starters in the top five and three total in the top ten. Gannon ended in a tie for second with Ohio Dominican at 54-over 330 in the overall team standings. It's the fifth straight finish inside the top three for head coach
Scott Stano's team in the 2024-25 season.
UIndy brought home the team title in the nine-team field finishing nine strokes ahead of Gannon and Ohio Dominican at 321 (+45). Marta Lopez Ortega of UNC Pembroke was the individual medalist finishing with a one-over par total of 145 over the par-72 layout. Gannon's
Alexandria LeCureux (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) and
Ditte Petersen (Dianalund, Denmark/Sorø Akademi Skole) finished in a tie for fourth place at 10-over par 154. Both shot 76's on Wednesday and 78 on Thursday.
Playing as an individual, Gunnhildur Gunnarasdottir also finished in the top ten carding Gannon's best round of the day at 77 for a two-day total of 155 (+11). That was good for a three-way tie for seventh place.

Another successful tournament in the books, Petersen ended the two day event tied for 4th in the individual standings at 10 over par. A birdie on the part five 2nd hole today was a dramatic reversal from day one, where she carded a double bogey. Petersen would go three over the rest of the front nine to hit the halfway marker at +2 (38). She would double the 10th and 18th, while also putting home a birdie on the par five 16th hole. At +6 (78), Petersen finished the event with five birdies and her fourth top five finish of the season.

Even with her teammate after 36 holes, LeCureux also finished T-4th in the individual standings, matching Petersen's scores both days. Like the first day, she would bogey the first hold, along with bogeys on 3 & 7 and a double on 6. But her first birdie of the day on the 9th ended her front nine four over heading to the back. The freshman bogeyed 10, 11, and 12 but would finish strong, earning a birdie on the par three 17th and recording a 78 for the final round.
Cloe Mateo (Sabadell, Spain/Montcau la Mola) - Round 2 Score

Mateo made the biggest individual jump on the leaderboard of any Golden Knight on day two. Climbing six spots to finish T-22nd, the sophomore's 79 was highlighted by birdies on the part five 2nd and par three 4th. Two bogeys and a double on the 9th left her two over (38) for the front. She would bogey 10 and 11, but birdied her second par five (13th) of the day to climb back to three over. Bogeys on each of the final four holes left the card reading a 41 on the back nine for a 79 overall.
Andrea Martinez (Tarragona, Spain/Col·legi Vedruna Sagrat Cor) - Round 2 Score

Following a day where she shot just three strokes off her season best, Martinez carded an 81 in round two. The senior played the first four holes to even par before bogeying the 5th. Martinez immediately responded with back to back birdies on 6 and 7, cleaning up the par three 7th with a birdie on back to back days to go 1-under on the front nine. A double and triple to start the back nine put Martinez back above par coming in, ending her final nine with a 46 that included a birdie on 14. Martinez would finish 12th in the individual leaderboard, falling three strokes shy of a place in the top ten. It's her third highest finish of the season.
Emily Donahue (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) - Round 2 Score

The Grove City native shaved one stroke off her opening round score with an 83 to close the invite. Back to back bogeys on the opening two holes put her over par to start the day, but Donahue rebounded nicely with a birdie on the par four 6th hole. Following consecutive bogeys on 12, 13, and 14, she would birdie the 17th and close with a part to shoot 46 on the back nine, following a 37 on the front. She would finish 28th in the individual leaderboard.
Victoria Colmenares (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/ICL Academy) - Round 2 Score

Starting her eleventh round of the season, Colmenares would card bogeys on four of the first nine holes. A double on the 3rd led to a 42 on the front nine, and trouble down the stretch heading towards the clubhouse saw her shoot 44 on the back nine holes.
Gunnhildur Gunnarasdottir (IND) - Round 2 Score

A strong showing from the freshman, whose 77 equaled her lowest round total for the season. Starting on the back nine, Gunnarasdottir bogeyed 10, 11, 12, & 13 but rebounded nicely with a terrific birdie on the par four 15th. Another birdie on the par three 17th followed. She would go onto finish +3 the rest of the way en route to a T-7th finish in the individual leaderboard.
Samantha Turk (Euclid, Ohio/Villa Angela-St. Joseph) (IND) - Round 2 Score

Turk turned in an 82 following an 80 on day one, climbing three spots on the overall leaderboard to finish T-29th. A birdie on the 475 yard par five 5th was part of a strong sequence for the sophomore, who earned par on the following two holes. Turk's rounds of 80 and 82 are her lowest of the season, surpassing her previous low of 84 at the ODU Champions of Women's Golf Fall Classic.
