Golden Knights in Fourth Place in Atlantic Region Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA today released its initial set of Division II women's basketball rankings that rank the teams. The PSAC West has been hotly contested all year and that is reflected in this week's Atlantic Region poll. The top four teams are in the Western Division. Gannon holds down the fourth spot in the poll.

A week ago the NCAA released its regional rankings but they were just in alphabetical order. This week the committee has Seton Hill holding down the top spot in the region. The Griffins have a 21-4 overall Div. II record and are 21-4 in-region.

Indiana (Pa.) (18-5, 18-5) and Edinboro (19-5, 19-4) are second and third, respectively, while Gannon is fourth with a 23-5 overall record and 20-5 in-region. The Golden Knights conclude the regular season on Saturday hosting Seton Hill in a showdown that could play a huge role in the seeding, not to mention the regional rankings.

The second five includes three more teams from the PSAC. Fairmont State is fifth and Virginia State sixth. They're followed by PSAC squads Kutztown, California (Pa.), and Lock Haven. Fayetteville State completes the top ten.

The NCAA will release its third set of rankings next Wednesday, March 5 and the field for the 2025 NCAA Division II Tournament will be announced late Sunday, March 9.
