Saebo, Ratliff Named Gannon Student-Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. Kasper Alfei Saebo (Hamar, Norway), a member of the men's soccer team, and Kate Ratliff (Canal Winchester, Ohio/Canal Winchester), a standout on the women's basketball team, have been selected as the Gannon University Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of November 16. This marks the 11th week honoring Gannon's Student-Athlete of the Week and encompasses events through Sunday.

Saebo provided the winning goal on Sunday as Gannon won its first-ever PSAC Championship with a 2-1 win over Millersville. A native of Hamar, Norway, the sophomore midfielder took a pass from Shota Toyama (Kanagawa, Japan/Tama) and found the back of the net at the 71:48 mark to for the winning goal.

The goal was just his second of the season and the third of his career. He also contributed in Gannon's 2-1 semifinal win over West Chester two days earlier, assisting on the first goal.

Ratliff led fifth-ranked Gannon, now 4-1, to a pair of victories this past weekend in the Atlantic Region Challenge. The 6-foot-0 junior played just 14 minutes in a 90-37 win over Davis & Elkins, but was in long enough to contribute 14 points and pull down seven rebounds.

The Golden Knights found themselves up by just five points late in the third quarter on Sunday vs. Charleston (WV) before outscoring the Golden Eagles 24-7 over the final ten minutes for a 68-43 win. Ratliff had 12 points, five rebounds and three steals. In the two games Ratliff was 10-for-18 from the floor, including 4-of-5 on 3-pointers.
