THE GANNON-WEST CHESTER SERIES
Tied at 9-6-1
In a series that first began in 2008, Gannon has won the last three matches, including a 3-1 win at McConnell Family Stadium in September. This marks the third straight year the two teams have met in the PSAC Tournament semifinals. Gannon claimed a 1-0 win a year ago and lost to the Golden Rams in 2023 by a 2-1 score.

ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon men's soccer team will serve as the host of the 2025 PSAC Men's Soccer Final Four this weekend. The semifinals will be played on Friday, November 14 at McConnell Family Stadium at 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. with the conference championship decided on Sunday, November 16 at 1:00 p.m. The winner will receive the PSAC's automatic berth into the NCAA Div. II Tournament.

Head coach Billy Colton's Golden Knights will face West Chester (10-5-3), the number seed from the Eastern Division, for the third straight season in the semifinals. That match is the first of Friday's semifinals set for 2:00 p.m.

A pair of PSAC East teams will meet in the second semifinal at 5:00 p.m. with defending PSAC champion and No. 3 East seed Bloomsburg (10-2-6) meeting Millersville (10-3-4), the top seed in the East.

Gannon is appearing in the PSAC Tournament for the ninth straight year. The Golden Knights have reached the PSAC championship game four times, including last year, but are still in search of a first conference title.

A year ago Gannon defeated West Chester 1-0 in the semifinals before falling to host Bloomsburg 2-1 in the championship match. In 2023 Gannon hosted the PSAC Final Four but fell to West Chester by a 2-1 score in the semifinals.
The two teams met on Sept. 20 at McConnell Family Stadium with Gannon posting a 3-1 victory. The match was tied late in the first half before Sverre Orten (Orsta, Norway/Aalesund vgs) gave Gannon a 2-1 lead with less than 90 seconds left in the half. Jack Kenyon (London, United Kingdom/Harris Crystal Palace) added an insurance goal in the 69th minute.

The NCAA will announce the 2025 tournament field on Monday, November 17. Gannon is in search of its fourth NCAA Tournament berth in the last five years and fifth overall under Colton. The Golden Knights climbed to 14th in the latest United Soccer Coaches Div. II Top 25 and are ranked seventh in this week's Atlantic Regional rankings.

Millersville, ranked 23rd nationally, is ninth in the regional rankings with Bloomsburg 11th.

HEAD COACH BILLY COLTON COMMENTS
"We started out very up and down, we were very inconsistent in a lot of aspects both in training and in games. The last month we started clicking off the field and became more together, that quickly transferred to the field and we were more of a team. The level in training went up and those habits then shifted into the games. We have been in good form the last month of the season and hopefully we can keep that going into postseason."

"We must be switched on for the whole game, we cannot take any time off or relax because we will get punished. We need to be difficult to play against and do the 'ugly' side of the game well, work hard, compete, battle, then we can enjoy the ball when we are attacking and will need to take our chances when they come. Its going to be an incredibly tough weekend, and we will need our whole squad to help if we are to be successful."
