ERIE, Pa. – Following a pair of breathtaking wins on Friday the 2025 PSAC Men's Soccer Championship Game will put No. 23 Millersville against No. 14 Gannon on Sunday. The match gets underway at 1:00 p.m. at McConnell Family Stadium with the winner receiving the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Div. Il Tournament.

Sunday's championship match features the two regular-season champions from the Eastern and Western Divisions, and both teams come in nationally ranked. Gannon was the lone PSAC West team to reach the semifinals in both the men's and the women's tournaments, with the PSAC using a crossover format in the quarterfinals.

Head coach Billy Colton's Golden Knights bring a 12-2-4 record into Sunday's title match and are riding an eight-game winning streak. Gannon is ranked 14th in the United Soccer Coaches Div. II Top 25. More importantly, they are seventh in the latest Atlantic Region rankings. Millersville is 11-3-4 and ranked 23rd in the United Soccer Coaches poll and ninth in the regional poll.

SEMIFINAL NAIL-BITERS
No. 14 Gannon 2, West Chester 1:  Friday's semifinal action began with Gannon rallying for a 2-1 win over West Chester. The Golden Rams took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute but Per Kristian Lauvstad (Nesoya, Norway/) knotted the match at 1-1 with four minutes left in the half. Lauvstad was also involved in the game-winner. He was taken down in the box by the WCU goalkeeper. Sverre Orten (Orsta, Norway/Aalesund vgs) deposited the ensuing penalty kick into the left corner of the net for his 14th goal of the season at the 75:29 mark.

No. 23 Millersville 3, Bloomsburg 2  2OT: Just when the second semifinal looked like it was headed to penalty kicks the Marauders shocked Bloomsburg with a goal with just 24 seconds remaining in the second overtime period. Zander Leik accounted for the game-winner in a back-and-forth tilt, his second of the match. Millersville took a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 12th minute but the Huskies tied the match 11 minutes later. Leik's second-half goal looked to give Millersville the lead for good but Bloomsburg knotted the score in the 87th minute off a wild scramble in front of the net.

WE'VE DONE THIS BEFORE
Gannon has now reached the PSAC Championship Game for the second year in row, dropping a 2-1 decision to Bloomsburg last year. In fact, the Golden Knights have been to the title game five times but are still in search of a first-ever conference crown. Millersville has own five PSAC titles, the last coming in 2023. Gannon and Millersville have met on two previous occasions in the PSAC Championship Game on back-to-back years. In 2019 the Marauders edged Gannon 1-0 and in 2021 they claimed a 2-0 win in a game played in the snow at Mercyhurst.
