The No. 16 Gannon men's soccer program collected another pair of league honors this week, as
Enzo Rekka (Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina/Gymnasium of the Catholic School Centre "Sveti Franjo") and
Dominik Varga (Maglód, Hungary/Vörösmarty Mihály Gimnázium) were named PSAC West Athlete and Defensive Athlete of the Week following the Golden Knights' 8–0 win to close the regular season.
The awards mark the 10th PSAC weekly honor earned by the program this year and the third time Gannon has swept both weekly awards this season.
Rekka delivered a standout attacking performance against California (Pa.), notching season-high totals in shots (7), shots on goal (4), goals (2), and assists (3).
He opened the scoring in the third minute, added another goal in the second half, and assisted three more, finishing involved in five of Gannon's eight goals.
Varga anchored a defensive group that held the Vulcans to just one shot on the night. He organized the back line, directed possession from the defensive third, and contributed on the attacking side with an assist and a shot in the victory.
Gannon completed the regular season unbeaten in PSAC West play and now turns its attention to championship weekend.
No. 16 Gannon will host the 2025 PSAC Men's Soccer Championship at McConnell Family Stadium. The Golden Knights will play at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, against the winner of the West Chester vs. Lock Haven quarterfinal.
