Gannon's Men's Soccer defender Frederik Paulsen (Odense, Denmark/Oure Kostgymnasium) has been named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week after leading the Golden Knights to a perfect 2–0 week that included victories over D'Youville and California (Pa.).

Behind his play, the Golden Knights improved to 6–2–4 overall and 3–0–2 in conference action, extending their unbeaten streak in PSAC West play.

Paulsen anchored a back line that allowed just 12 total shots (five on goal) across the two matches while helping Gannon post its fourth shutout of the season and remain unbeaten in PSAC West play.

He also made a major offensive impact, scoring his first two career goals in Saturday's 4–0 win at California (Pa.), finding the back of the net on both of his shot attempts.

Having started the last four games for the Golden Knights, Paulsen has been a steady presence on the back line and a key contributor on both ends of the field.

This marks the first PSAC weekly honor of Paulsen's career and the third weekly award of the season for the Gannon men's soccer program.
