Men's Swimming Falls To Ithaca In Regular Season Finale

Golden Knights To Prepare For PSAC Meet

In their final meet of the regular season, the Golden Knights dropped a 195-96 decision to Ithaca.

GU picked up its first top podium finish in the 100 breaststroke. Aidar Sataev (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan/Forest Hill) was the only swimmer to go sub 58 seconds (57.85) to claim the win. Sataev also won the 200 breakstroke (2:07.28) later in the meet.

Another win came shortly after in the 100 freestyle. Nikita Poparcea picked up from his successful senior night with a 46.63 to push past the rest of the field. 

Jakub Loboda picked up gold in the 100 butterfly. His 49.57 was one of only two sub 50 second times in the field.

GU ended the meet with a second place finish in the 200 freestyle relay, falling just .19 seconds behind the first place team.

The Golden Knights now prepare for the PSAC Championship meet, held Feb. 17-20 in York, PA.
