Gannon's Pool selected as PSAC West Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week

Graduate student James Pool had two goals and an assist in a win over Post

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Gannon midfielder James Pool (Hastings, England/Claverham) has been named the PSAC West Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week.

Pool, a graduate student, scored his first two goals of the season as he helped Gannon to a 1-0-1 record  last week.

The midfielder had two goals and an assist in GU's 4-0 victory over Post in a non-conference game at Lock Haven. First, he assisted on Shota Toyama's (Kanagawa, Japan/Tama) goal late in the first half to open the scoring. Then, Pool scored unassisted just four minutes into the second half to boost the lead to 2-0. At the 65:30 mark, Pool then capped the scoring with a goal off an assist from Per Kristian Lauvstad (Nesoya, Norway/).

Pool then played solid defense and provided solid passing in Gannon's 2-2 tie with Seton Hill to open the PSAC West season on Saturday.
