ERIE, Pa. – Gannon head coach Billy Colton hopes he's learned a bit about his team, and that the recent 3-1 loss to Adelphi was an aberration. Eight days after that disappointing showing the Golden Knights improved to 4-2-0 with a 4-0 win over Post. The two teams basically met halfway on Wednesday, playing at Lock Haven University.

The Golden Knights open up PSAC West action on Saturday, September 28 hosting Seton Hill at 3:00 p.m. at McConnell Family Stadium. It's an early season meeting of the top two teams in the Western Division preseason poll, with Gannon picked to finish first and Seton Hill second.

The question for Colton is which team will show up on Saturday. The one that has scored 18 goals in the four wins, or the one that has tallied just one goal in the two losses? When clicking on all cylinders the Gannon attack can be hard to stop with many options.

On Wednesday James Pool (Hastings, England/Claverham) broke out with his first two goals of the season after s coring 17 goals a year ago. That figure tied for both the Gannon and PSAC leads. Pool earned D2CCA All-American honors after finishing with 17 goals and six assists.

Freshman Per Kristian Lauvstad (Nesoya, Norway/) leads the Golden Knights with five goals and two assists for 12 points. Sverre Orten (Orsta, Norway/Aalesund vgs) and Pool each have two goals and three assists for seven points.

Andres Moraes has been in goal for five of Gannon's six games. The transfer from CSU Bakersfield is 3-2-0 with two shutouts and a 1.20 GAA.

Following Wednesday's match Gannon opens PSAC action on Saturday, September 28 hosting Seton Hill at 3:00 p.m.

Scouting Seton Hill: Seton Hill was picked to finish second in the PSAC West, trailing only Gannon. The Griffins are off to a fast start at 4-1-1 while tasting defeat for the first time on Wednesday with a 2-1 loss to D'Youville. The Saints jumped out to 2-0 lead before Oscar Heggem scored late in the first half. Neither team could find the back of the net in the second half. Heggem is one of seven players to score goals this season for Seton Hill. Julian Marker leads the way with five goals for 10 points. Nils Heinrich adds two goals and three assists for seven points. Aiden Hollander is 3-0-1 in goal and has a 1.50 GAA with two shutouts. Marker and Hollander were All-PSAC West second team honorees a year ago.
