BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Gannon men's golf team shot even par on the day – the low 18-hole round of the tournament – and rolled to a six-shot win in the Ferris State Bulldog Fall Classic on Tuesday.
 
Sophomore Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) paced Gannon by tying for third place in the individual standings as three Golden Knights finished among the Top 10. Senior Elijah Ruppert (Fleetwood, Pa./Brandywine Heights) placed sixth, and junior Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) tied for ninth.
 
Gannon finished with a two-day, 54-hole total of 10-over-par 862 after closing with a third-round score of even-par 284, the best 18-hole total by any team in the three rounds. Scores were tallied by using the best four scores from each team's five-golfer lineup. Rockhurst placed second in the 10-team field at 868, and host Ferris State was third with 871.
 
Parrini, who was tied for the lead after the second round, shot an even-par 71 on Tuesday to finish with a 1-under 212 total for the tournament. He finished two strokes behind medalist Elijah Shirley of Rockhurst.  
 
Ruppert shot a 1-over 72 on Tuesday and closed in sixth place with a 3-over 216 score. Delorenzi tied for Gannon's low round of the day with a 1-under 70 as tied for ninth at 5-over 218.
 
Redshirt sophomore Rasmus Seppanen (Bastad, Sweden/Akademi Bastad Gymnasium) tied for 13th at 219 after carding a 1-over 72 on Tuesday. Senior Michael Wareham (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) added an even-par 71 on Tuesday to finish 29th at 222.
 
Gannon also received solid play from two golfers who competed as individuals. Sophomore Kyle Westfall (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy (Erie)) matched Delorenzi with a 1-under 70 on Tuesday and tied for 18th at 220.  Junior Dylan Flinchbaugh (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) shot a 74 on Tuesday and carded a 229 total.
