Golden Knights Sweep PSAC West Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week Awards

Lauvstad repeats as Athlete of the Week, Abdullah named Defensive Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference today announced its weekly awards. The Gannon men's soccer team swept the PSAC West awards, with Per Kristian Lauvstad (Nesoya, Norway/) named the PSAC West Athlete of the Week for the second straight week and Abdo Salem Abdullah (Kristiansand, Norway) selected the Defensive Athlete of the Week.
 
A forward from Nesoya, Norway, Lauvstad is off to a fast start with five goals in four matches. He scored twice in a 4-0 win at Ashland, accounting for the first and third goals, along with assisting on the second goal. He added Gannon's third goal in a 5-2 win over Wilmington (Del.). he is Gannon's leading scorer with five goals and an assist for 11 points.
 
Abdullah is a native of Kristiansand, Norway. The freshman made his first career appearance and start at Ashland. He made an impressive debut with five saves to post a shutout over an Ashland team that defeated defending PSAC champion Millersville in its previous match.
 
Gannon returns to action on Tuesday, September 17 hosting Adelphi. The match gets underway at 1:00 p.m. at McConnell Family Stadium.
