WINTER GARDEN, Fla. –
Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) shot a 2-under-par 69 on Wednesday to lead the Gannon men's golf team on Day 2 of the NCAA Division II Championships.

The Golden Knights improved their score by four shots on the second day of the tournament, shooting a 9-over-par 293 on the par-71 Crooked Cat course at the Orange County National Golf Center. Gannon is in 19th place with a score of 22-over 590 through 36 holes. The top eight teams in the 20-team field after the third round on Thursday will advance to medal play on Friday and Saturday.

Senior
Shaunak Rama (Bryanston, South Africa/St Stithians Boys School) added on a 3-over 74 on Wednesday after leaving Gannon with a 72 on Tuesday. Freshmen
Jacob Wolak (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock Area) and
Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) each added a 4-over 75. Parrini, who missed the first round, replaced senior
Ryan Ferry (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) in the lineup on Wednesday.
Michael Wareham (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) rounded out GU's lineup on Wednesday with a 5-over 76.

Delorenzi moved up 31 spots in the individual standings on Wednesday into 37th place in the 108-golfer field. He is at 1-over-par 143 through two rounds after carding an opening-round 74.

Delorenzi had a remarkably consistent day with three birdies, 14 pars and just one bogey. He recorded birdies on the par-5, 544-yard No. 4 hole, the par-3, 217-yard No. 8, and the par-5, 528-yard No. 14 hole. He shot a 1-under 34 on the front nine and a 1-under 35 on the back.

Rama birdied the same three holes that Delorenzi birdied, but he added another on par-5 17th hole. He is at 4-over 146 through 36 holes.
