FAIRMONT, W.Va. – One day after competing in the NCATA Championship meet as a team, the Gannon acrobatics and tumbling team claimed two event national titles on Sunday.
Â
The Golden Knights won NCATA event titles in the Synchronized Pyramid and the Synchronized Toss on the final day of the four-day national championships at Fairmont State University's Feaster Center. On Saturday night, they met No. 1 Baylor in the title meet as the Bears claimed their ninth consecutive team championship.
Â
On Sunday, Gannon stepped into the spotlight in the two synchronized events that feature duos working simultaneously.
Â
"It is incredible to take home two Event Titles that are duo events," Duren said. "It truly shows the depth in which this team thrives on coming together and doing it for one another. The Sisterhood these athletes have shines brightest when they come together in the larger events."
Â
Gannon has won at least two event titles in the past three years. The Knights won the Synchronized Toss for the third straight year. Gannon won the Synchronized Pyramid in 2022 and won the Open Toss in 2022 and 2023.
