WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) and Shaunak Rama (Bryanston, South Africa/St Stithians Boys School) tied for third place among 130 golfers as the Gannon men's golf team placed second at the 26-team Atlantic/East Region Preview on Tuesday.
 
Delorenzi and Rama each shot 4-over-par 75 on Tuesday after opening with even-par 71s on Monday at the Oglebay Resort Jones Course. Meanwhile, Gannon finished with a two-run total of 32-over-par 600 as it finished two shots behind Charleston (W.Va.), which overcame a six-shot deficit. Charleston was ranked No. 1 in the most recent Atlantic Region rankings, and Gannon was No. 3.
 
Gannon will now look ahead to the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional, which will also take place on the Oglebay Resort's Jones Course on May 9-11.
 
Gannon's Michael Wareham (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) tied for sixth place with a 6-over 148 over the two rounds. Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) finished with a two-day total of 160 (76-84) while Ryan Ferry (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) carded a 165 (81-84).
 
Glenville State's Benjamin Fernandez was the tournament's medalist with a 5-under 137 (67-70). He shot the low round on both days.
