INDIANA, Pa. – Gannon sophomore Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) shot a 2-under-par 69 on Tuesday as the Golden Knights finished third as a team in IUP's 15-team Cecil C. Spadafora Invitational.
 
Delorenzi tied for ninth place in the individual race with a two-day total of 145 (76-69) at Indiana Country Club. Coach Dustin Coleman's Knights finished with a two-day total of 16-over-par 584. Gannon finished with a 4-over 288 score on Tuesday after shooting 296 on Monday. IUP won the title with 4-under-par 564 on hits home course, while Charleston placed second at 12-over 580.
 
Gannon juniors Shaunak Rama (Bryanston, South Africa/St Stithians Boys School) (69-77) and Michael Wareham (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) (75-71 shot 146 to tie for 11th in the field of 87. Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) tied for 27th with 150 and Ryan Ferry (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) tied for 39th with 153. Playing as an individual, Jacob Wolak (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock Area) shot 155 (78-77).
 
Delorenzi tied for the low round of the day with his 69. His highlight of the day was an eagle 3 on the par-5 fifth hole. He also birdied Nos. 2 and 10.
 
Wareham shot a 1-under 34 on the back nine, thanks to three birdies. Parrini also carded a 1-under 34 on the back nine as he recorded eight pars to go with his birdie on No. 11.

Gannon will prepare for the Atlantic/East Region Preview starting Monday in West Liberty, W.Va.
