ERIE, Pa. – Five seniors will be recognized on Friday evening when the Gannon men's swimming and diving team hosts rival Edinboro at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion Pool.

Jacqueline Michalski's Golden Knights will then travel across town to face Erie rival Penn State Behrend on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Seniors
Andrew Beyer (Warren, Pa./Warren Area),
Justin Decheck (Plum, Pa./Plum),
Alex Deemer (Connoquenessing, Pa./Butler Area),
David Gallion (Arlington, Va./Homeschooled), and
Kollin Schwab (Erie, Pa./McDowell) will be honored before Friday's dual, which is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

Gannon enters the weekend with a 2-1 dual record, while Edinboro is 1-3 and Behrend is 4-2.

The Gannon men had an impressive outing in their last dual, setting two pool records on the way to a 169-117 victory over IUP at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion Pool in the Gannon Recreation and Wellness Center.

Junior
Stephen McCallum (Cape Town, South Africa/Wynberg Boys') and freshman
Malachi Boyle (Knoxville, Tn./Home Life Academy) each set Gannon pool records in the meet. McCallum swam the 100 freestyle in 45.75 seconds, and Boyle finished the 1000 free in 9:41.06. Boyle added a win in the 500 free.

Justin Decheck (Plum, Pa./Plum) (50 backstroke), Gallion (100 butterfly), and
Will Retsch (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) (100 individual medley) also turned in individual wins. Gannon claimed relay victories in the 200 medley (

GU SEEKS REPEAT VS. BORO

Last year, Gannon won eight swimming events on the way to a 143-57 victory over the Fighting Scots at Edinboro's McComb Fieldhouse.

Joey Decheck (Plum, Pa./Plum) paced Gannon with two individual wins as he placed first in the 50 free and 100 free. McCallum (200 free), Gallion (100 butterfly),
Seth Butler (Maineville, Oh./Little Miami) (440 IM), and
Hiyan Kubagawa (Sao Paulo, Brazil/) (100 breaststroke) added individual victories.
 Gannon also was victorious in the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay.

The Gannon men were dominant against Penn State Behrend last season as well, beating the Lions 174-82 while winning at 14 events at Behrend on Senior Day. (Gannon did not swim at home last season.)

Kubagawa was a triple winner for Gannon, touching first in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, and 200 IM.
Joey Decheck (Plum, Pa./Plum) won the 50 free and 100 butterfly, and
Andrew Beyer (Warren, Pa./Warren Area) won the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke.
