The Gannon University men's golf team will look to keep its season-long streak of team and individual titles intact this weekend.
Coach
Dustin Coleman's Golden Knights have a string of four consecutive team tournament titles and four straight individual first-place finishes going into their fifth tourney of the 2022-23 season.
Gannon will look to extend that streak to five tournaments on Sunday and Monday when it plays in Clarion University's Hal Hansen Invitational at Grove City Country Club.
The Knights won Allegheny College's Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational on Monday. They earlier won the California Vulcan Invitational, Mercyhurst's Evann Parker Memorial, and Gannon's own Howard "Bud" Elwell Invitational.
Abe Holmes (Barrie, Ontario/Barrie North Collegiate) won the individual title in three of those tournaments and was named PSAC Golf Athlete of the Week for the third time this week. In each of the three tourneys he tied a teammate for the low score. Twice he won a two-hole playoff, and the third time he won by virtue of his low second round.
This tournament is Gannon's last event before the PSAC Championships, which will take place Oct. 14-16 at Iron Valley Country Club in Lebanon.
Here's a look at Gannon's lineup for the Hal Hansen Invitational:
Abe Holmes (Barrie, Ontario/Barrie North Collegiate)
Ryan Ferry (Meadville, Pa./Meadville)
Michael Wareham (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional)
Elijah Ruppert (Fleetwood, Pa./Brandywine Heights)
Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy)
Shaunak Rama (Bryanston, South Africa) and
Dylan Flinchbaugh (Saegertown/Saegertown) will be playing as individuals.
