ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon University women's basketball team is hosting its annual Free-Throw-A-Thon fundraiser on Tuesday, Sept. 27 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Highmark Events Center. Funds raised through the event support the team's upcoming trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico to play a pair of games over Thanksgiving break.
Â
The unique event features each member of the team shooting 100 free throws. Supporters are able to sponsor an individual member of the Lady Knights in that effort by either donating a flat amount or donating based on each made free throw. For example, if a supporter decides to gift $1.00 per made shot—and a player sinks 80 of 100 free throws—the total gift would amount to $80.00.
Â
Fans are also invited to join head coachÂ
Cleve Wright and the Lady Knights in-person at the Highmark Events Center during the event to watch the action live. For those who cannot attend, the event will be live streamedÂ
here and will feature interviews with coaches, players, as well as a Gannon women's basketball Hall of Fame member.
