YORK, Pa. – Redshirt junior Justin Decheck (Plum, Pa./Plum) improved on his third-place finish in the 100 backstroke from the 2021 PSAC Swimming Championships, putting in an incredible effort (50.68) for second place that almost caught West Chester's Dalton Fink for first place. Decheck's second-place finish was the highest of this year's meet for the Golden Knights. Andrew Beyer (Warren, Pa./Warren Area), also swimming in the "A" final for Gannon in the 100 back, earned a podium spot of his own in seventh place (time of 52.44.) That event also featured Jacob Baum (North East, Pa./Cathedral Preparatory) (53.28, 12^th) and Connor Hebert (Damascus, Md./Damascus) (53.61, 14^th) in the "B" final.

Another impressive swim on Day Three came from the quartet of Justin Decheck (Plum, Pa./Plum), Seth Butler (Maineville, Oh./Little Miami), David Gallion (Arlington, Va./Homeschooled), and Joey Decheck (Plum, Pa./Plum) in the 200 medley relay, securing third place and All-PSAC honors in 1:32.69. The only other podium finish of the night came from Gallion in the "A" final of the 200 fly, taking home eighth place in 1:52.22.

Swimming continues on Saturday, Feb. 19 with the final five events: the 1650 freestyle, 100 free, 200 back, 200 breast, and the 400 free relay.
