First-place Gannon women's soccer team plays regular-season finale on Saturday

Golden Knights look to avenge lone PSAC West loss against UPJ at McConnell Family Stadium

The Gannon women's soccer team has locked up first place in the PSAC West and the No. 1 seed in next week's PSAC Tournament.

The Golden Knights can still find motivation for their regular-season finale on Saturday at 5 p.m. against Pitt-Johnstown at McConnell Family Stadium.

Coach Colin Petersen's team can avenge its only loss of the PSAC West season, build momentum going into the postseason, and make it a happy Senior Day. A win would also help Gannon in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rankings, where the Knights are ranked No. 6.

Gannon, 11-2-4 overall, has clinched first place in the PSAC West with a 10-1-4 record. The Golden Knights will host a PSAC quarterfinal against an opponent that will be determined Saturday.  If Gannon were to win its quarterfinal game, it would host the PSAC Tournament semifinals and championship game next weekend.

UPJ handed Gannon its only conference loss by a 1-0 score on September 28. Since that game, Gannon is 5-0-2 and UPJ is 0-5-2.
