ERIE, Pa - After picking up a 2-0 win over California (PA) on Wednesday evening on the road, the Gannon University women's soccer team will return home to host Edinboro on Saturday evening at McConnell Family Stadium. Opening kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.

Saturday's Homecoming matchup will feature the first EUknighted promotion of the season. This year, the athletics departments from both Gannon University and Edinboro University will be supporting two different organizations during EUknighted games throughout the year. The programs are thrilled to support the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home, as well as the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Gannon's 2-0 shutout win on Wednesday ended a three-game scoreless drought for the Lady Knights. During that stretch, Gannon went 0-1-2 with a 1-0 loss to Seton Hill and scoreless draws against Mercyhurst and Indiana (PA).

Freshman
Gabby Boden (Butler, Pa./Butler) and junior
Sarah Fails (Girard, Pa./Villa Maria) scored Gannon's goals against Cal (PA). Boden scored just over a minute into the game on a sliding kick that was set up on a cross from Fails. Fails found the back of the net in the second half when
Laurel Prokopchak (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) set up her shot from the right side of the box during the 55
th minute. GU held a 10-1 advantage in shots on goal during the win.

Four different players have found the back of the net for Gannon this season, led by two goals from redshirt-freshman
Taylor Lewis (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek). Both of Lewis' goals came during Gannon's season-opening win over Pitt-Johnstown.
Jamie Seneca (Plum, Pa./Plum) joins Boden and Fails with one goal apiece this season. Five different players have also hit the scoring column with assists this season, including Boden, Fails, Prokopchak,
Kayla Bevacqua (Welland, Ontario/Notre Dame) and
Logan Nicklas (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton).

Two different goalkeepers have recorded shutout wins for Gannon this season, including
Kennedy Solymosi (Eastlake, Ohio/Lake Catholic) with two and
Jordan August (Morgantown, W. Va./Morgantown) with one. August made the start on Wednesday and faced just two shots in her shutout win over Cal. Solymosi has a team-high 18 saves for the Lady Knights. She currently ranks 30
th in the country in saves percentage.

As a team, Gannon ranks 38
th in the country in goals-against average and 25
th in NCAA Division II in shutout percentage.

Edinboro comes into Saturday's game ranked No. 11 in the country. The 'Scots have a 5-0 record on the season and have outscored opponents 9-2 on the season. Morgan Wissner comes in with a team-high three goals for Edinboro. Brittnie Spithaler is second on the team in scoring for the Fighting Scots with two goals and an assist this season. Goalkeeper Anna Voelker has started all five games at goalkeepers for Edinboro. She has allowed just two goals and has turned away 24 shots on the season. She has a .923 saves percentage.

Following Saturday's matchup, Gannon will return to the road for a pair of contests before returning home on Oct. 9. The Golden Knights visit Clarion on Saturday, Oct. 2 for their next outing.
