ERIE, Pa - After a seven-day rest, the Gannon University men's soccer team returns to action on the road at Wheeling University, trying to rebound after a tough 2-1 loss to No. 13-ranked Wilmington (Del.) last Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights are ranked in the top five in multiple categories amongst PSAC teams, including fourth in points (33 total), goals (12), and assists (nine), as well as fifth in goals allowed (six.)

A trio of Gannon players (redshirt junior
Sergio Del Castillo (Madrid, Spain/) and redshirt sophomores
Tinashe Katsande (Norwich, England/Dereham Sixth Form College) and
Furkan Yildirim (Berlin, Germany/Thomas Mann Gymnasium)) have led the attack in 2021, each netting three goals apiece to tie for the team lead. Six Golden Knights have notched at least one assist this fall, led by
Lennox Crews (Offenbach, Germany/Leibnizschule) (three) and
James Pool (Hastings, England/Claverham) (two).

On the other side of the pitch, Wheeling sophomore Richard Afolayanka holds Cardinals team-highs with three goals and two assists. Three other players (Miguel Martin, Harry Martin, and Daniel Skarpnes) have scored two goals each.
Three different goalkeepers have started a game for Wheeling in 2021, with senior Tyler Serman seeing the most time but allowing nine goals in just three starts.

After Saturday's contest, the Golden Knights look forward to a mid-week road matchup with No. 22-ranked Bloomsburg (6-1, 2-1 PSAC East) at 4:30 p.m.
