ERIE, Pa. – It's rivalry time for the Gannon women's soccer team, as the Lady Knights will host crosstown-rival Mercyhurst on Wednesday, September 15 at McConnell Family Stadium at 7 p.m. Gannon comes into the PSAC West match with a 1-1-0 overall record, and is also 1-1-0 in league play. Mercyhurst owns a 1-2-0 overall mark and is 0-1-0 in the conference.

The contest pits two of the top teams in the PSAC West according to the coaches' preseason poll. Mercyhurst was picked to finish second behind Slippery Rock, while Gannon was picked third.

After seeing its season opener against Notre Dame(Oh.) postponed, Gannon opened the season with 3-2 win at Pitt-Johnstown a week ago. The Lady Knights suffered a 1-0 setback to Seton Hill on Saturday in their home opener.

Mercyhurst opened with a 2-1 win at Davis & Elkins, but has since dropped two straight contests – a 2-0 loss to Edinboro and a 1-0 loss at Daemen last Saturday.
Forward Taylor Lewis (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek), a redshirt senior, has scored two of Gannon's three goals, with freshman midfielder Jamie Seneca (New Kensington, Pa./Plum) accounting for the other. Senior Kennedy Solymosi (Eastlake, Ohio/Lake Catholic) was in goal against UPJ, while junior Jordan August (Morgantown, W. Va./Morgantown) got the call against Seton Hill.
