EVENT NOTES
  • Benedict took all of eight hours to twice break records in the 100 fly. His prelim time of 47.46 set new marks for the PSAC, the PSAC championship meet, and the Gannon program. The senior then turned around and did it again in Thursday's final, cutting that time down to a 47.31.
  • Bolmanski turned in a prelim time in the 200 free that was nearly two seconds better than the field. It was a little closer in the final, but he turned in a 1:40.43 to give the Gannon men two PSAC individual titlists on the same day for the first time.
  • The four total titles just halfway through the 2020 championships already set a new best for the men in their PSAC history.
  • Benedict and Bolmanski were the only Knights in their respective A finals, but both events had multiple Gannon swimmers in the B final. Engel, Decheck and Gallion finished 10-11-12 in the 100 fly, and Alex Deemer (Connoquenessing, Pa./Butler Area) edged Joey Deemer (Connoquenessing, Pa./Butler Area) by just 0.15 seconds in the 200 free, finishing 10th and 11th, respectively.
