Men's Swimming Crowns Two Champs On First Day Of PSAC Championships

THE RUNDOWN

Event: 2020 PSAC Men's Swimming Championships
Location: Graham Aquatics Center – York, Pa.
Result: Gannon is third out of seven teams after one day
The Short Story: Brent Benedict (Corry, Pa./Corry) won two gold medals Wednesday on the first day of the PSAC Swimming Championships, winning the 50 freestyle and anchoring the 800 freestyle relay to a program record to lead the Gannon men's swimming team.

EVENT NOTES

For the second time in as many years, the Knights broke the program mark in the 800 free relay at PSACs, this time cutting over five seconds off the previous best (6:51.22).
Gannon put three in the top five in the 50 free. Just behind Benedict's winning time were Eason in fourth (also with an NCAA B cut time), and Engel in fifth.
Bolmanski, who was part of the 800 free relay win, also earned all-conference honors with a third-place finish in the 1000 free, just missing out on an NCAA B cut in the event by a second.

UP NEXT

The 2020 PSAC Championships continue Thursday with the second day of action.
Prelims begin at 10 a.m. with the finals scheduled for 6 p.m.
