KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Two players earn 2019 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Team honors Wednesday afternoon as 11 players from across the country are named to a single team. Austin Ludwik (Gold Coast, Australia/The Southport School) and Ivan Manfredi (Chiavari, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Marconi Delpino) represent Gannon. Gannon is one of two teams with two players earning All-American honors.
 
Both Ludwik and Manfredi were named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East First Team earlier this week. They join James Randall (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School) who was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American earlier this year. This is the first time since 2012 that more than two players have earned Academic All-American honors for the Knights.
 
Ludwik holds a 3.85 GPA as a Sports Marketing and Management major at Gannon. Earlier this season, he was named to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team. He earned PSAC West All-Conference First Team and D2CCA Atlantic Region Second Team honors in addition to his academic accolades. Ludwik scored two goals and tallied an assist in Gannon's 5-1 win at Pitt-Johnstown earlier this season and helped the team's defense earn eight shutouts this year.
 
Manfredi holds a 3.67 GPA as a Sports Marketing and Management major at Gannon. This is his first academic honor of the year, but was previously named to the PSAC West All-Conference First Team and United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Region First Team. He tallied six goals and two assists on the year. He scored a career-high two goals in Gannon's 5-0 win over No. 10 Assumption to help lead the Knights to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
