Seven Reach Semifinals As Golden Knights Turn In Impressive Work At Storm Open

EVENT NOTES

Means toughed his way through the 149-pound bracket, winning decision of 8-7, 9-3 and 4-0 through the first three rounds to reach the final.
Dunlop, Ischo, Day, Leise, Ramage and Nixon all joined Means in the semifinals at their respective weights. Dunlop and Ischo each fell in decision to Division I foes, Ischo getting to sudden victory against Ohio State's Jacob Decatur.
Day picked up a pair of falls in his first two matches of the day, then worked for an 8-4 decision in the quarter on his way to a fourth-place finish.
Leise's only loss on the day was a tight 3-1 semifinal decision against Ohio State's Gavin Hoffman. His wins on his way to a third-place finish were a 7-1 decision, a 49-second pin and a forfeit.
Ramage and Nixon met up in the 197 third-place match after Ramage used a first-period fall and a tight 3-1 decision to reach the semifinals. Nixon won in a tiebreaker in his quarterfinal.

UP NEXT

Gannon heads into December, where it will travel for a B Team dual at Jamestown CC before hosting Millersville on Dec. 7 at the Hammermill Center. The team's two seniors graduating at the end of the semester – Travis Schmeling (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) and Carl Gorg (Tioga, Pa./Williamson) – will be honored prior to the match.
