Spring break travel and postseason competition headline the week ahead for Gannon Athletics, as multiple programs remain on the road while championship season begins.
Women's lacrosse and Acrobatics & Tumbling continue spring break trips, softball heads south for a full slate at the Space Coast Games, and baseball stays on the road for nonconference action. In contrast, men's and women's basketball open PSAC Tournament play.
Women's wrestling also enters the national spotlight, as
Bella Phillips (Bellingham, Wash./Squalicum High School) competes at the inaugural NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships.
Postseason Recap – Last Week
There was never a doubt for the Gannon Golden Knights. From the opening bouts of the NCAA Division II Super Region I Championships, Gannon controlled the field and never looked back, capturing the
team regional crown with 175 total points, finishing 46 points clear of the runner-up.
The Golden Knights seized the team lead just three bouts into the quarterfinal round and did not relinquish the advantage the rest of the tournament. Gannon also crowned
seven individual regional champions, showcasing its depth across the lineup. The title marks
Gannon's second Super Region I team championship in the last three seasons.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Spring break continues for the Gannon Golden Knights, who wrap up play in Tennessee with a single contest on the schedule. Freshman attacker
Isabella Veltre (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne Central) leads the team with 15 goals, while senior attacker
Charlie Hunter (Boston, N.Y./Hamburg) has added 10 goals and a team-high 26 draw controls. Veltre recorded a season- and career-high five goals in the 14–13 loss against Lincoln Memorial University, while Hunter also notched a five-goal performance.

After an off week, the Gannon Golden Knights return to action following a 2–2 opening weekend at the Glenville State Tournament. Gannon earned victories over West Virginia State University and West Virginia Wesleyan College, before falling on the final day to D'Youville University and host Glenville State University.
Emma Smerick (Ford City, Pa./Armstrong) (.467, three home runs, six RBIs) was named PSAC West Player of the Week, while
Katie Armstrong (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell) earned PSAC West Pitcher of the Week honors after posting a 0.84 ERA with 11 strikeouts in 8.1 innings.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Wednesday, 3/4 – PSAC Quarterfinal – 5:30 p.m.
Cleve Wright's No. 6 Gannon Golden Knights open PSAC Tournament play after earning the No. 1 seed in the West and finishing 18–2 in conference play, including a perfect 12–0 road mark. Gannon enters the postseason ranked second in the NCAA Atlantic Region.
The final NCAA regional rankings will be released on Wednesday, ahead of the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday, March 8, at 10:30 p.m.
With the PSAC's East vs. West quarterfinal format, Gannon would travel east for the semifinals if it advances, though hosting could shift if all East teams are eliminated. The Golden Knights will face the winner of Bloomsburg and Shepherd.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Wednesday, 3/4 – PSAC Quarterfinal – 7:30 p.m.
Postseason play begins for
Easton Bazzoli's No. 5 Gannon Golden Knights. Gannon earned the No. 1 seed in the PSAC West after a 19–1 conference record and finished undefeated at home (14–0). The Golden Knights enter postseason play ranked first in the NCAA Atlantic Region.
Final regional rankings will be announced on Wednesday, prior to the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday, March 8 at 11:00 p.m.
With the West hosting quarterfinals on the men's side, Gannon would host the PSAC Championship semifinals on Saturday, March 7, and the title game on Sunday, March 8, with a win on Wednesday. The Golden Knights will face the winner of East Stroudsburg and Shippensburg.

Sophomore
Bella Phillips (Bellingham, Wash./Squalicum High School) will compete at the inaugural NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships as the No. 7 seed at 180 pounds. Phillips enters nationals ranked fifth nationally with a 28–6 record and 14 technical falls after capturing the Super Region II title.
NO. 9 ACROBATICS & TUMBLING

The No. 9 Gannon Golden Knights head west after a tri-meet sweep of Trine and Buffalo State, posting a score of 258.305—their second-best total of the season, while also recording their
best Team Event score of the year with an 87.28. Gannon enters the trip with a 3–1 record.

After splitting a four-game series with Tiffin, the Gannon Golden Knights return to action. Over the weekend against Tiffin,
Hunter Troiano (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seneca Valley) (.462, six RBIs) and
Ian Soto (Florida, Puerto Rico/Academia Cristiana de Manati) (two home runs, six RBIs) paced the offense, while
Wes Parker (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) added three extra-base hits, including a home run.
