EAST STROUDSBURG, PA- There was never a doubt. Right from the start of the NCAA DII Super Regional One meet, the Golden Knights dominated the field of competition and never looked back. GU took home the team regional crown with 175 total points, 46 more than second place.

In the process, each weight class was tremendous. Gannon earned seven individual regional titles and in the process clinched nine national qualifying bids.

"This was a special day", said head coach Tom Boyd. "We set out to accomplish a goal, and we did just that. Our team was focused from the very beginning and didn't relent. I'm proud of the way they fought for each other, supported each other, and gave everything they had in every period. This is a great start to what we hope will be a tremendously successful national championship season."

This is the second team regional title in the last three seasons for the Golden Knights, who took the team lead just three bouts into the quarterfinal round and never gave up the team advantage.

THE KNIGHT CAP

  • Seventh Heaven - Gannon had seven individual regional champions on the day, the most of any team during the NCAA Super Regional One.
  • Back to Back-  Two Golden Knights successfully defended their regional crown from 2025. Pat Jackson, moving from 174 to 184 this season, won his first round by fall and then gave up just one total point thereafter, securing a second regional crown. Meanwhile, Dorian Crosby (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) had three fall victories and a tech fall as he dominated his way to the top of the podium for a second straight season at heavyweight.
  • Logan Lurks, Logan Attacks - At 125, Logan Sallot (Erie, PA/McDowell High School) was tremendous in a regional title victory. The Erie, PA native outscored his opponents 40-4 en route to a title in the opening weight class of the tournament.
  • Kenny is Back - Despite an injury early in the season, Kenny Kiser (Meadville, Pa./Saegertown) found late bout magic on Saturday. The Crawford County native would secure a victory in sudden victory in the semifinals before earning a takedown with seconds to go in the final to win the 149 pound crown.
  • Other Notes - Holden Huhn (Loveland, Ohio/La Salle), in just his third start of the season in tournaments, captured the 157 pound title as the fifth seed ... Grant MacKay (New Castle, Pa./Laurel) and Jake Niffenegger (Mason, Ohio/La Salle) navigated their way to the title matches and earned first place via medical forfeits ... Joey Lyons (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) and Jerry Echevarria (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) punched their ticket to nationals with runner-up finishes ... Dillon Walker (Mason, Ohio/Mason) finishes fourth, one spot for an NCAA championship berth in a tightly contested third place match.
