The Short Story: Senior Matt Barto (Leechburg, Pa./Leechburg) finished as the individual champion at the 2018 Gannon Spring Invitational after shooting a 71 and winning in a sudden-death playoff with a par on the second playoff hole. Gannon finished third out of 10 teams with a score of 310.

INVITATIONAL NOTES

Saturday was Barto's fifth career individual title. He was the individual medalist at the 2014 PSAC Championships and 2015 St. James Plantation Invitational. He also tied for first at the 2016 Mercyhurst Spring Invitational and 2015 Gannon Spring Invitational.
Barto's individual victory is the second for Gannon this season. Bennett also captured the Howard "Bud" Elwell Fall Invitational, leading Gannon to a first-place finish.
Barto's 71 is a season-low round.
Marsico shot a career-low 78.
