The Short Story: The Gannon Women's Water Polo team won its second-consecutive match after defeating St. Francis, 10-8, on Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Mercyhurst Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After Saint Francis scored the first goal of the game, Campbell Ruh (Walnut, Calif./Lutheran High School of Orange County) knotted the match at one goal in the first quarter.
Liz Barr (Honolulu, Hawaii/'Iolani School) and Alison Cooney (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) backed up the Ruh goal with two goals of their own. Gannon led 3-1.
The Lady Knights extended their lead to 6-2 by halftime over the Red Flash.
Francesca Williamson (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) pushed the lead after halftime to 7-2 with her second goal of the match.
Gannon held a 8-3 advantage headed into the final period.
The Red Flash attempted a comeback, outscoring Gannon 5-2 in the fourth quarter and drew within two, 10-8.

Gannon connected on 10 of 39 shot attempts in the match.
Saint Francis tallied eight goals on 35 shots.

Bucknell began the match with three-straight goals before Francesca Williamson (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) got the Lady Knights on the board.
Bucknell extended its lead to 5-1 before the end of the first period.
Campbell Ruh (Walnut, Calif./Lutheran High School of Orange County) knotted her first goal of the match with a liner to the net in the second period.
Bucknell held a 10-2 advantage at halftime.
The third quarter saw three Gannon goals from Liz Barr (Honolulu, Hawaii/'Iolani School), Francesca Williamson (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) and Ruh.
Gannon closed the gap to 11-5 headed into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Knights exploded for six goals in the final period, led by four goals from Alison Cooney (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy).
Gannon ran out of time before the comeback was complete, falling 14-11.
