Clifford Wins 1-Meter Dive at Case Western Meet

  • Event: Case Western Quad Meet (Cleveland, Ohio)
  • Competing Teams: Case Western Reserve, Gannon, Grove City and Rochester
  • The Short Story: Freshman Lauren Clifford (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier Central) captured gold in the 1-meter dive with a score of 221.3 at the Case Western Reserve Quad Meet Friday evening.

Women's:
  • Lauren Clifford (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier Central) – 1st place (221.3)
Men's:
  • Ryan Garich (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) – 3rd place (221.35)
  • Zachary Galla (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) – 7th place (160.2)
 
EVENT NOTES
  • Friday's victory is the second of Clifford's career. She also placed first in the 1-meter dive against Tiffin on Oct. 7.
  • Clifford topped a field of nine divers from Case Western, Rochester and Grove City.
  • Garich and Galla also competed for Gannon in their fifth meet of the season.
