THE MATCHUP- Gannon holds a 0-2 overall mark entering Friday's home opener against Adrian (Mich.). To open the regular season, the visiting Lady Knights fell to Fairmont State (W.Va.), 264.810-248.370. The following week, GU dropped a 263.765-234.075 decision to host Alderson Broaddus.
- Competing in only one meet this season, Adrian owns a 0-1 overall record. The Bulldogs opened the season on the road at Fairmont State with a 263.270-171.335 loss. Since winning their first meet in program history against King last season, the Bulldogs have been in search of the program's second all-time victory.
- Gannon and Adrian (Mich.) each completed its inaugural season last year as members of the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA).

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS- Friday's home meet will consist of six events - compulsory (four heats), acro (three heats, 45 seconds length), pyramid (three heats, 60 seconds length), toss (three heats), tumble (six heats) and team (one heat, 2:30 length). There will be a 15-minute halftime after the pyramid event, before the night concludes with the final three competitions.

BEYOND THE MAT- Winning both meetings last season, Gannon owns a 2-0 all-time mark in the series with Adrian. GU captured its first win in program history following a 264.955-239.655 victory at Adrian Feb. 14. The Lady Knights swept all six events while winning 19 of 20 heats. Later in the season, the Lady Knights captured 19 of 20 events in a 277.19-241.7 victory over the Bulldogs at the Hammermill Center April 5.
- Both teams welcomed new head coaches to guide their respective programs. For the Lady Knights,
Chevonne White is in the midst of her first season. White spent eight seasons as the head coach at Battlefield (Va.) High School from 2004-12. She developed the Bobcats into one of the area's top gymnastics teams, earning 10 championship and runner-up titles at the district and regional championships. The Bulldogs are guided by former University of Oregon A&T competitor Tsutae Johnson, who serves as the head coach for the Acrobatics & Tumbling, Cheerleading and Dance programs at Adrian.
