EXTRA EXTRA:- Four Lady Knights are averaging more than 10 points a contest. Junior Brianna Brennan and senior Morgan Neighbors both average 14 points per game, while Neighbors averages 5.1 rebounds. Sophomore McKenna Shives is third on the team averaging 12 points, and is a perfect 14-of-14 from the free throw line, rounding out the Lady Knights squad is senior Jennie Thies who averages 10.4 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.
- Thies is currently ranked third in the conference for rebounding, averaging 11.4Â per contest, while senior Amanda Berchtold ranks fourth in the PSAC averaging 4.1 assists per game.
- The Lady Knights are currently ranked third in the latest Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) Atlantic Region Media poll that was released on Monday morning.
- Since joining the PSAC holds a 10-8 record against IUP, which included a five-game win streak (2012-14), that streak ended last year as the Lady Knights were swept in both meetings.
- Gannon dropped five spots to No. 23 in the D2SIDA National Media Poll released Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Knights are one of four NCAA Division II Atlantic Region teams mentioned in the top 25 poll.
- The Lady Knights are one of seven NCAA DII Atlantic Region programs listed in the USA Today Sports Top 25 poll.
- Thies recorded her fourth consecutive double-digit rebounding game, with 12 grabs against Grand Valley State.
- Gannon is listed among all NCAA Division II programs in all-time winning percentage, beginning with a 672-419 record in 41 seasons. More recently Gannon was ranked 16th among Division II programs with a .757 winning percentage (115-37) in the last five years.
- Gannon was also tabbed to finish tied for second place in the PSAC Western Division according to the league's preseason coaches' poll.
- Head coach Jim Brunelli enters his third season; he has guided the Lady Knights to a 49-12 record and two NCAA Tournament appearances in his first two years at the helm.Â
IUP HEADLINES:- The Crimson Hawks broke a two-game losing streak this past week, defeating St. Augustine's (82-34) and Johnson C. Smith (64-43) in the IUP-Lodestar Classic.
- IUP returns one starter from last year's PSAC West championship team, in Leslie Stapleton who is IUP's all-time three-point field goal percentage leader (39.6).
- The Hawks were selected to finish fourth in the PSAC Western Division according to the league's preseason coaches poll.
NEXT TIMEOUT:- The Lady Knights heads east, to face Lock Haven and Bloomsburg this weekend.
- Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. against Lock Haven on Friday (Dec. 4), the game against Bloomsburg on Saturday is slated to begin at 2 p.m.Â
