The Short Story: The Gannon men's swim team fell to Cleveland State, 158-68, Saturday afternoon at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium. The Golden Knights had 10 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying times in the first dual meet of the 2015-16 season.

How It Happened:

• The Golden Knights had 10 swimmers with PSAC qualifying times.
• Senior Mike Lawrence (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario/Notre-Dame-des-Grands-Lacs) took home a third place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle with a PSAC qualifying time of 10:18.76.
• Junior Drew Wolter (Clarksville, Md./Atholton) also, swam a conference qualifying time, 1:49.66, in the 200 yard freestyle and finished fourth.
• Senior Denys Fedorchenko (Zaporizhia, Ukraine/Zaporizkiy Colleguium #98) swam a 1:59.17 good enough for a conference qualifying time and a third place finish.
• Senior Nils Groeppler (Bergkamen, Germany/Willy Brandt) finished second in the 100 yard butterfly and qualified for the PSAC with a time of 51.44.
• In the 100 yard freestyle, both freshman Allan Collins (East Amherst, N.Y./Canisius) and Fedorchenko swam PSAC qualifying times and finished two and three with times of 48.30 and 48.39.
• Freshmen Dionisio Carey (Nassau, Bahamas/Hargrave Military (Va.) Academy) and Maciej Skrzypczak (Meriden, Conn./Platt) followed suit as they finished two and three with conference qualifying times of 55.20 and 57.18.
• Drew finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a PSAC qualifying time of 5:03.22.
• Sophomore Sam Miseyka (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) swam a PSAC qualifying time of 1:00.90 and took home second place in the 100 yard breaststroke.
• The relay team of Matt Loughner (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford), Collins, Wolter and Fedorchenko took home second place with a time of 3:15.45

Next Up
Gannon remains on the road, as they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. for the Carnegie Mellon Tri-Meet next Saturday, Oct. 31. The meet is slated to start at 11 a.m.
