MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Gannon women's basketball team enters the New Year on a three-game win streak, as the team returns to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover action this weekend. The Lady Knights open the two-game road swing at Millersville Saturday, when the team faces the Marauders at Pucillo Gymnasium. The next day, GU heads to Shippensburg to take on the Raiders at Heiges Field House. Both games are scheduled to tipoff at 1 p.m. Following a two-week break from play, the Lady Knights will look to keep their streak of 25-consecutive wins against Eastern Division opponents in regular-season crossover action intact.

Four of the five victories have come against PSAC opponents to hold third place in the Eastern Division with a 5-2 record in conference action.
- The Marauders enter Saturday's meeting against Gannon on a two-game win streak. Capturing back-to-back home wins, the Marauders escaped with a 61-59 win over Mercyhurst Dec. 20, before closing the year with a dominant 71-38 win over Goldey-Beacom Dec. 31.
- Among PSAC leaders, the Marauders rank second in field goal percentage defense (.360) and rebounding offense (44.7), and sixth in scoring defense (61.3). MU is last in free throw percentage (.549).
- The Marauders' scoring is led by Carly Gallagher, who ranks sixth in the league in points per game (16.0). Yasmin Cooper currently occupies ninth among conference leaders in rebounds per game (8.9).
SERIES HISTORY VERSUS MILLERSVILLE- Gannon holds a 6-2 all-time mark against Millersville. Since joining the PSAC in the 2008-09 season, the Lady Knights have won five straight against the Marauders. Among the last five games, two have come in the postseason.
- Three of the last four games have been decided by less than four points and all by less than seven points. The last GU win over the Marauders came in the form of a 63-62 victory at the 2013 PSAC Tournament.

Prior to the Raiders' recent stumble, the team captured four straight wins to open the season at 5-2.
- After earning an 86-48 win over host Slippery Rock Dec. 17, the Raiders fell to reigning conference champion Edinboro, 69-62, Dec. 20, to close the year. The Raiders face Mercyhurst Jan. 3, to open the New Year before hosting Gannon the next day.
- Among PSAC leaders, the Raiders rank fifth in scoring offense (74.6) and ninth in scoring defense (63.4). SU also owns eighth in field goal percentage (.413) and fifth in field goal percentage defense (.371). The Raiders are fifth in both 3-point field goal percentage (.350) and 3-point field goal percentage defense (.307).
- The Raiders' scoring is led by Stephanie Knauer, who ranks 10th in the PSAC in points per game (14.9). Knauer leads all shooters in the league connecting on .596 (68-114) of her shots from the floor. Morgan Griffith occupies sixth among conference leaders in rebounds per game (9.3) and Lauren Gold ranks fifth in assists per game (4.4).
SERIES HISTORY VERSUS SHIPPENSBURG- Gannon owns a 5-3 record against Shippensburg in the all-time series. The Lady Knights have won four of the last five meetings between the two squads, capturing victories in the last two contests. Since joining the PSAC in the 2008-09 season, the Lady Knights are 3-1 against the Raiders.
- The Raiders have been strong at home against the Lady Knights posting a 1-3 mark.
- The last meeting came on the road for GU, as the Maroon and Gold earned a 73-61 victory over the host Raiders in PSAC crossover action Dec. 19, 2012.

Brittany Batts (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) led the Lady Knights with 19 points to become the 26th Lady Knight in program history to score 1,000-career points. The Lady Knights dominated on both sides of the ball, shooting a season-best 58.5-percent (31-53) from the field and holding the Lady Wolves to 43 points, which was a season-low in points allowed for the Maroon and Gold.
NEXT UPEntering the New Year, the Lady Knights remain in PSAC crossover action against Eastern Division opponents. Following a meeting against Millersville Dec. 3, the Lady Knights head to Shippensburg the next day Jan. 4. The game is set to tipoff at 1 p.m.
OUTSIDE THE WILD WESTIn 37 total PSAC crossovers, the Lady Knights hold a 35-2 record since joining the conference in 2008-09. The Lady Knights have won 25 consecutive games against Eastern Division opponents. In crossover play, the Lady Knights hold a 18-1 record at home and a 17-1 record on the road. This season, a win or loss during PSAC-crossover action will count in a team's conference standings.
D2SIDA REGIONAL RANKINGSGannon moved up two spots into fourth place in the latest Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) Atlantic Region Media Poll released Dec. 22. West Chester (9-1) slid back to third after owning the top spot for three consecutive weeks. California (Pa.) (10-1) and Indiana (Pa.) (10-1) earned a share of first place in the regional rankings. Winner of three straight games, Gannon (7-3) earned fourth followed by Bloomsburg (7-2) to complete the top five. Edinboro (8-3), West Liberty (6-3), Virginia State (8-2), Johnson C. Smith (N.C.) (10-1), Livingstone (N.C.) (9-0) and Fairmont State (W.V.) (8-2) rounded out the top 10. Livingstone and Fairmont State shared the final spot.
... AND THE D2SIDA NATIONAL RANKINGSThe Lady Knights received votes in the latest D2SIDA National Media Poll released Dec. 23. Ninth-ranked California (Pa.) leads a group of four PSAC to garner national attention. The Vulcans are followed by Indiana (Pa.) (11-0) in 11th, West Chester (9-1) in 20th and Gannon, which is currently receiving votes.

Nettie Blake (Jersey City, N.J./Marist) continues to climb her way up the program's all-time list in multiple categories. Among all-time career leaders in program history, Blake ranks fifth in both most rebounds (820) and most free throw attempts (470), seventh in most free throws made (294), 12th in most points (1,270) and tied for 12th in blocked shots (69). She continues to move up multiple other career lists compiling 488 field goals made and averaging 7.7 rebounds per game.
FAST BREAK POINTS- Among the PSAC leaders, the Lady Knights are first in free-throw percentage (.747) and second in assist/turnover ratio (1.16). The team is sixth in rebounding offense (41.7), second in rebounding defense (35.3) and third in rebounding margin (6.4). Averaging 16.80 assists per game, GU ranks third in the league.
- In the conference, junior
Amanda Berchtold (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) ranks first in assist/turnover ratio (3.2) and second in assists per game (4.8). Entering this weekend, Berchtold ranks sixth in assist/turnover ratio among national leaders.
- Among PSAC rebounding leaders, Blake ranks first in offensive rebounds (49) and offensive boards per game (4.9). She also ranks fourth in rebounds per game (10.2) and sixth in total rebounds (102). Among national leaders, Blake ranks eighth in offensive rebounds per game and 45th in rebounds per game entering this weekend.
- Batts occupies second all-time at Gannon with 257 career three-pointers. She needs 43 to break Jacki Windon's school record of 299. In an 82-43 win over Cheyney Dec. 20, she became the 26th Lady Knight in school history to record 1,000-career points bringing her career total to 1,008.
