ERIE, Pa. - Spending nearly a month away from home court, the No. 2 Gannon Lady Knights return to the Hammermill Center on Wednesday evening when the team hosts Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Division opponent Indiana (Pa.) at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Knights will look to keep their win streak rolling against the previously nationally-ranked Crimson Hawks, who have dropped back-to-back games.

TICKETS
Ticket windows will open at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday's contests will be part of PSAC-crossover doubleheaders that begin with the women's teams at 5:30 p.m. A ticket for the doubleheader costs $5 for adults and $3 for non-Gannon students and senior citizens. All Gannon students are admitted free of charge by showing their school ID at the front door. Tickets can also now be purchased in advance online at www.gusportstickets.com.
SCOUTING THE INDIANA (PA.) CRIMSON HAWKS
- After riding a five-game win streak, the Indiana (Pa.) Crimson Hawks has dropped their last two including a 73-64 loss to host Mercyhurst in a return to divisional play. It was the first time the Crimson Hawks dropped consecutive games since the 2010-11 season.
- Holding fourth place in the PSAC West Division, the Crimson Hawks are 2-2 in divisional play. Beside the loss to Mercyhurst, the Crimson Hawks fell to host Seton Hill, 63-62, on Dec. 7.
- Among the PSAC team stats, Indiana (Pa.) sits atop scoring defense (58.1), but ranks ninth in scoring offense (70.5). The Crimson Hawk defense is holding its opponents to shooting 35.9 percent from the field and 25.1 behind the arc.
- The Crimson Hawks are led by Lindsay Stamp and Ashley Stoner. Stamp is averaging 20.5 points per game to rank first in the PSAC and 25th nationally. Stoner leads the Crimson Hawks on the glass, averaging 7.1 per game.
- Head coach Tom McConnell enters his first season with the Crimson Hawks after serving two seasons as an assistant at Old Dominion. McConnell also served as the men's head coach at Saint Francis (Pa.), compiling a mark of 85-105.
SERIES HISTORY
The Crimson Hawks lead the all-time series against the Lady Knights with a 15-13 mark. The Lady Knights have captured three straight games including the last two meetings at the Hammermill Center. On home court, the Lady Knights hold an 8-6 advantage. The last win over the Crimson Hawks at the 'Mill came on March 16, 2013, as the Lady Knights captured a 64-46 semifinal win en route to their Atlantic Regional title.
LAST TIME OUT
Returning to PSAC West Division action after six cross-divisional matchups, the No. 2 Gannon women's basketball team defeated the Clarion Golden Eagles, 68-47, at Waldo S. Tippin Gymnasium on Jan. 11. With the score tied at 4-4, Redshirt junior Doriyon Glass (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) located an offensive board off a missed three-point attempt and threw the ball back in for a Lady Knights' 6-4 lead with 16:13 remaining. The rest of the way, the Lady Knights held the lead over the Golden Eagles off Glass' put-back under the basket. Senior Jen Papich (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) and junior Brittany Batts (Leesburg, Va./Loudon County) each netted 11 points to the lead the Lady Knights. Papich also registered a team-high nine rebounds. Junior Nettie Blake (Jersey City, N.J./Marist) added 10 points with six rebounds.
NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
Head coach Jim Brunelli holds a 6-0 record against fellow first-year head coaches this season. Next up, Brunelli will square off against IUP head coach Tom McConnell, who is in his first season with the Crimson Hawks. Previously McConnell served as an assistant coach at Old Dominion University after spending four seasons at the University of Colorado. From 1992-99, McConnell was head coach at St. Francis (Pa.). Cheyney head coach Kyle Adams was the last to face Brunelli, as the Lady Knights defeated the Wolves, 81-60, at the Junker Center on Jan. 8.
HOME SWEET HOME
The Lady Knights have won 22 consecutive regular-season home games. The last regular-season home loss came on Jan. 11, 2012, against Edinboro, 72-62.
THE FINAL SIX
The Lady Knights are one of six NCAA Division II women's teams to remain undefeated on the season. Joining the 16-0 Lady Knights are Bentley (14-0), Emporia State (16-0), Nova Southeastern (12-0), Colorado Mesa (14-0) and Harding (14-0). At the start of the week, Adelphi was among the group of unbeaten squads, but fell out with a 104-92 loss to visitor Stonehill on Jan. 8.
DOUBLE-DIGIT DOZEN
In the 68-47 win over Clarion, the Lady Knights captured their 12th double-digit win of the season, marking their eighth win decided by more than 20 points. Edging the Chaminade Silverswords by 33 points, the Lady Knights captured their widest margin of victory since a 101-48 win over visiting Ursuline on Nov. 12, 2012 at the Hammermill Center.
LOOKING AHEAD
The No. 2 Gannon Lady Knights will travel down I-79 to face the Edinboro Fighting Scots on Saturday, Jan. 18, with the tip set for 1 p.m. In the all-time series, the Fighting Scots hold a 27-19 lead. For the Lady Knights, last season's 71-62 win over visiting Edinboro snapped a five-game losing streak to the Fighting Scots. Prior to the Lady Knights' five-game stumble, the Lady Knights had won seven straight. Edinboro (10-3, 4-0 PSAC West) is currently second in the division. Entering their meeting versus visiting Mercyhurst on Jan. 15, the Fighting Scots have won five consecutive games.
