Gannon (26-3, 20-2) enters the postseason as the PSAC Western Division's top seed, winning its first regular-season title since the 2009-10 campaign. The Gannon-California (Pa.) winner will face the Shippensburg-Millersville quarterfinal winner Friday, March 8 in the PSAC semifinals. The location will be determined Tuesday night as the top remaining Eastern Division seed will host this weekend's Final Four.

Head coach Cleve Wright's club was tabbed No. 1 in the February 27 NCAA Division II Atlantic regional rankings and is expected to stay there when new rankings are released Wednesday afternoon. The top-ranked team after the conference tournaments will host the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional. Gannon last hosted the regional in 2010 en route to an NCAA Division II Final Four appearance.

Gannon has won 25 games for the fourth time during the last seven seasons. The Lady Knights are 165-47 during the last seven years, equaling a 77.8 winning percentage. The squad is a perfect 11-0 at home this season and has won 25 consecutive games when leading at halftime.

California (Pa.) (20-7, 15-7) rides a four-game win streak into Tuesday's PSAC Quarterfinal contest. The Vulcans won their last three regular-season games, before drilling Clarion 72-42 during a PSAC Tournament first-round home game Saturday night. Cal is 9-3 on the road this season, but those three losses have come at the PSAC West's top three seeds (Gannon, Indiana (Pa.), Edinboro).

Gannon and California (Pa.) have split the last two season series with both taking care of business at home. Gannon is 10-2 in the series at the Hammermill Center compared to 3-12 away from the 'Mill. The Lady Knights defeated Cal 77-68 in the 2010 PSAC title game during the last postseason match-up between the teams.
