ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon women's basketball team will close out the 2011-12 regular season Saturday on the road. The Lady Knights will travel to Indiana (Pa.) for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
The regular-season finale sets up back-to-back meetings between the two schools as Gannon and Indiana (Pa.) will meet in the first round of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament, which will take place Tuesday, February 28 at the Hammermill Center.
The Lady Knights have won four straight, and hold a 21-4 overall record this season. They have been led offensively this season by
Jen Papich (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Fox Chapel) and
Caitlyn Lowe (Gettsyburg, Pa. / Gettysburg). Papich paces 14.4 points per game while Lowe is at 12.2
Indiana (Pa.) enters the contest with a 20-5 overall record and a 16-5 mark in conference. They are led offensively by Sarah Pastorek. The junior averages a team-best 13.9 points and 7.7 rebounds.
The second meeting this season will be the 24th overall between Gannon and Indiana (Pa.). The Crimson Hawks hold a 13-10 edge in the overall series, having swept the season series last year. Gannon won the first match-up this season by a 71-40.
