ERIE, Pa. - Coming off a 3-1 win against Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon, the Gannon men's soccer team will take on Alderson-Broaddus Friday. The home opener is schedule to start at 4 p.m.

After dropping the first two matches of the season the Golden Knights earned their first win of the season in non-conference action against Shepherd. Gannon was led by Robbie Bennett (Durban, South Africa / St. Benedict School) who recorded his first career hat trick in the match to account for all three of Gannon's goals. The true freshamn leads the team in goals (4), points (8) and shots on goal (9). He currently boasts a .308 shot percentage while nearly 70 percent of his shots are on goal.

Austin Miller (Hilliard, Ohio / Hilliard Darby) has also netted a goal for the Golden Knights this season while Marnix van der Donk (The Hauge, Netherlands / Mearlant Lyceum) has two assists.

Jason Barbarino (Pittsburgh, Pa / Plum Senior) and Michael Kickel (Erie, Pa. / Cathedral Prep) have each started matches for Gannon this season. Kickel has seven saves while Barbarino has turned away eight shots.

The Battlers enter the match 0-2 after dropping decisions to both California (Pa.) and University of Rio Grande (Ohio). Alderson-Broaddus dropped a 1-0 decision to the Vulcans after Paul Silverstrone netted the game winner in the 80th minute.
