ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon men's soccer team will be looking for its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) win when they host Shippensburg Saturday, October 1. The PSAC doubleheader will start at 3 p.m. with the women's match followed by the men's match at 5:30 p.m.

The Golden Knights currently hold a 4-5-1 overall record with losses in both their conference matches this season. Gannon dropped a 5-3 decision to Lock Haven before falling 2-1 to nationally-ranked California (Pa.).
Despite the two conference losses, Gannon still ranks third in the PSAC in total goals with 19. The number also ranks the Golden Knights 22nd nationally. Individually Robbie Bennett (Durban, South Africa / St. Benedict School) remains among the nation's best in scoring this season. Through games played before September 26, the freshman is second nationally in both points (24) and goals (10). Since then he has added an assist to his season totals, tallying one against California (Pa.) on Wednesday.
Faycal Benjelloun (Rabat, Morocco / Lycee Descartes) is second on the team in points (7) after scoring Gannon's only goal against Cal. Tyler Hollingsworth (Johannesburg, South Africa / St. David's Marist Inanda) and Adam Sharbaugh (Sarver, Pa. / Knoch) each have four points.
Mike Kickel (Erie, Pa. / Cathedral Prep) has 37 total saves in 2011 with a 3-2 record. He has an .804 save percentage and is averaging 1.45 goals allowed.
Shippensburg brings a 2-4-1 overall record and a 1-3-1 conference record to Saturday's match. The Red
Raiders have scored seven goals this season, each coming by a different player. Derrick Roy leads the team in points with three.
