ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon women's water polo team ran into a red-hot Bucknell team on Saturday evening as the Bison handed the Lady Knights a 26-6 loss at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion.

Bucknell wasted no time in jumping on the Lady Knights, scoring the game's first seven goals. Elizabeth Clary (Canton, Ohio / Glen Oak) put Gannon on the scoreboard in the final second of the first quarter, making the score 7-1 after the first eight minutes.

The Bison opened the second quarter in the same way, using a 6-0 run to extend their lead to 13-1. Molly Andrews (Tustin, Calif. / Tustin) added Gannon's second goal with 18 seconds left in the half.

Bucknell out-scored Gannon 8-2 in the third quarter and 4-2 in the fourth quarter to finish the win by the final score of 26-6.

Andrews scored two of Gannon's six goals while Clary, Emily Sullivan (Wheeling, Ill. / Wheeling), Colleen Harriger (Erie, Pa. / McDowell) and Kelly Steininger (Vernon Hills, Ill. / Vernon Hills) accounted for the remainder of the scoring.

For Bucknell, Haley Prickett and Kandis Canonica each scored a game-high five goals.

Gannon falls to 8-16 overall this season with a 0-6 mark in CWPA action. Bucknell is now 11-15 this season and 1-3 in conference action.

Gannon will travel to Notre Dame College on Monday, April 18 for a non-conference match that begins at 7 p.m.
