Steininger is one of Gannon’s top returning scorers … enters the 2013 season 13th-all-time at Gannon in sprint-offs (13).
2012: Named a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athlete … received the NCAA Division II Athletics Directors Association (ADA) Academic Achievement Award … named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Academic Outstanding Squad, reserved for water polo student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.71 or better … recorded three goals, four steals and three assists … produced all three of her season’s goals in the same match, ripping off three scores during a 17-9 victory against Salem International … added two assists and one steal against the Tigers … made a steal during the next match against NCAA Division I Indiana … recorded two steals and dished out an assist during an 11-4 victory against Washington & Jefferson.
2011: Was one of nine Lady Knights to reach double digits in goals, scoring 18 times … was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … led the team in sprint-offs (8) … finished second on the team in assists (16) and fifth in steals (23) … scored her first goal of the season against NCAA Division I Iona … earned a season-high four kick-outs against NCAA Division I Maryland … dished out two assists on five different occasions, leading Gannon to a 4-1 record during those contests … had six multiple-goal performances … recorded a season-high three steals against NCAA Division I Indiana … added two steals during victories against Penn State Behrend (13-3), Chatham (20-13), Washington & Jefferson (14-4) and Mercyhurst (16-6).
2010: Named to the CWPA “Outstanding” academic team reserved for water polo student-athletes with a cumulative grade-point average between 3.71 and 4.0 … was one of seven Lady Knights to reach double digits in goals, scoring 11 times … finished second on the team in steals (37) and fifth in assists (11) … scored her first career goal during her first collegiate match against NCAA Division I Bucknell … recorded her first career hat trick with three goals against Caltech … tallied a pair of goals during a 15-0 shutout of Penn State Behrend … produced single goals in six different matches.
High School: Played for head coaches Jim Pardun and Shona Moeller at Vernon Hills (Ill.) High School … named MVP in 2006 and 2007 … chosen Offensive Player of the Year in 2005 … was a four-time Defensive Player-of-the-Year selection (2005-2009) … named team captain twice … earned All-State accolades three times, including first-team honors as a senior ... landed a spot on the All-State second team as a junior and sophomore … was a two-sport athlete, being named to the All-State team in swimming ... served as the team captain for the swim team ... was a four-year member of the honor roll.
