Gannon Women's Water Polo Team Finishes 3-0 at Penn State-Behrend Invitational With 20-13 Win Over Chatham

Colleen Harriger added three goals to her season total during the 20-13 win over Chatham.

ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon women's water polo team wrapped up a perfect 3-0 weekend at the Penn State-Behrend Invitational Saturday with a 20-13 win over Chatham University.

The Lady Knights jumped out to a 5-2 lead after the first quarter before adding three goals in the second to hold an 8-4 lead at the half.

Gannon broke open the game in the third quarter with a 6-2 advantage in scoring. The fourth quarter featured a total of 13 goals as the Cougars scored seven times in the final eight minutes. However, Gannon netted six goals, earning the 20-13 win.

Tricia Gajewski (Fairview, Pa. / Fairview) scored a season-high five goals in the win. Entering the weekend, the freshman had tallied just three scores this season.

Colleen Harriger (Erie, Pa. / McDowell) and Emily Sullivan (Wheeling, Ill. / Wheeling) each scored three goals. Molly Andrews (Tustin, Calif. / Tustin) and Katelyn Jacobs (Brookfield, Ill. / Lyons Township) both found the back of the net twice. A total of 10 Lady Knights scored in the win. Libbie Guina (Houston, Texas / Clear Brook) had seven blocks in goal.

Gannon is now 6-13 this season and will head to the Grove City tournament on Saturday, April 2 for a pair of matches. Game times are set for 12 noon and 6 p.m.
