Gannon Women's Basketball Team Hosts Fourth Annual Pink Zone Game Saturday Against IUP; Admission for Men's and Women's Game Free of Charge

Gannon fans are asked to wear pink to Saturday's Pink Zone doubleheader against IUP.
The Gannon women's basketball team is will host Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division contest. Game time is slated for 1 p.m. at the Hammermill Center. The Game also serves as the Lady Knights annual Pink Zone game which works to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. Admission to both the men's and women's games is free of charge. 

Gannon's Pink Zone doubleheader helps raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research and survivors. All proceeds will stay local with the Erie Unit of the American Cancer Society-Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. All fans are asked to wear pink to Saturday's game or purchase a Pink Zone T-shirt in the front lobby of the Hammermill Center. There will also be plenty of other opportunities to donate or help the cause at Saturday's doubleheader.

Gannon enters Saturday's game with a 9-9 overall record with a 2-5 mark in conference. Gannon most recently dropped a road contest to Slippery Rock by a 71-63 score. The Lady Knights are led by Caitlyn Lowe, (Gettysburg, Pa. / Gettysburg) who is averaging 11.7 points this season.

IUP enters the game with a 13-5 record with a 5-1 record in conference play. The Crimson Hawks most recent game on the schedule against Lock Haven, originally scheduled for Wednesday, was postponed due to weather. IUP is currently ranked eighth in the country in turnover margin at 8.17.

IUP leads the all-time series 12-9. The Crimson Hawks snapped a three-game losing streak to the Lady Knights with a 79-61 win earlier this season. Gannon is 5-4 all-time against IUP in games played at the Hammermill Center.

The Lady Knights contest against IUP begins a three-game homestand for Gannon as they will play three games in a five-day span. Gannon also hosts Central State on Monday, February 7 and Edinboro on Wednesday, February 9. Both games start at 5:30 p.m.
