Gannon Women's Basketball Team Looks for Road Win Against Clarion

The Gannon women's basketball team will travel to Clarion on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.

The Gannon women's basketball team is looking for a road victory this weekend as they travel to Clarion on Saturday, January 29. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.

The Lady Knights have dropped five of their last six games, while Clarion has been on the losing side of its last four. The Lady Eagles hold a 4-13 overall record and match Gannon with a 1-4 record in conference play.

Caitlyn Lowe (Gettysburg, Pa. / Gettysburg) will try to join an elite group this weekend, needing just three three-point baskets to reach 100 for her career. The junior guard has hit eight long-range shots in the last two games.

Clarion's starting lineup features four freshman with a total of 10 on the roster. One of those freshmen, Emma Fickel, is averaging 13.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in her first collegiate season. Fellow freshmen Lauren Sabulchak is averaging 7.5 points and 6.0 rebounds off the bench.

Clarion ranks last in the conference in scoring defense, allowing an average of 70.3 points. The Lady Knights are seventh in that category, holding opponents to 64 points per contest.

Gannon leads the all-time series 23-14 over the Lady Eagles. The Lady Knights are currently riding a six-game winning streak over Clarion. Since 1979, Gannon has produced three different six-game winning streaks over the Lady Eagles. Gannon holds and 8-8 all-time record in games played at W.S. Tippin Gymnasium.
